Casarecce is originally from Sicily But, it is also a very popular pasta in other regions of Southern Italy. Therefore, the best sauces to serve with it are those of traditional Southern Italian origin with typically Mediterranean ingredients such as eggplant, tomatoes, cheese, and basil. This pasta is also often served with seafood or fish, such as swordfish. Casereccio, which means “homemade“ are short twists of pasta originating from Sicily which appear rolled up on themselves. Casarecce pairs well with cream/cheese, meat, napolitana (tomato base sauce), seafood, pesto and vegetables.
Sabbiatos pasta is made from 100% select durum wheat semolina flour.
The Red color label represents suggested Tomato style sauces that pair well with the Caserecci shape. |

My Sicilian grandmother would be very pleased! Great tasting and retains the perfect texture. We made Caserecci with red sauce and meatballs for Sunday dinner, and we’re never going back to store-bought pasta!
